The Old Iron Cot was a pub located at the bottom of Ruxley Road. It was opened in the former Mason's Arms, after a planning application was made to Stoke-on-Trent City Council in August 1996 to change its use to a dwellinghouse with the construction of a porch/canopy - which was approved in November 1996. The pub opened in 1997 with its amended name of The Old Iron Cot. [2]
The pub featured two main rooms, one of which was a lounge and one was a bar. The pub served both food and drinks. It was closed in 2007 and boarded up not long afterwards. In September 2009, a planning application was submitted to change its use to two dwellings with elevational alterations - which was approved in December 2009 and the pub was consequently converted to two semi-detached houses with the name of The Mason's Cottage.
